Empowering women to engage effectively in governance
Dear Colleagues,
Please join us in congratulating Cote d' Ivoire for ratifying the the (AU) Protocol on the Rights of Women on the 9th of March 2012!! The Cote d'Ivoire's ratification brings the number of states party to the Protocol to 32 (of a total of 53). A further 14 countries have signed but have yet to deposit the official documents required with the relevent African Union offices.
The government first signed up to the Protocol in February 2004 so a huge congratulations…
